Make a Day of It at Paws in the Park

While you’re visiting the Kate’s K9 booth, there will be plenty of other things happening throughout Paws in the Park.

Paws in the Park is hosting a full day of entertainment and activities for attendees of all ages, including live music, interactive activities and demonstrations, crafts in the Family Fun Tent, a pet costume contest, a silent auction, and more.

The event’s stage performances are sponsored by TTR Sotheby’s International Realty.

1:30 p.m. – Pet Costume Contest

If your pet already has their Halloween costume picked out, Paws in the Park is giving you the perfect chance to show it off early.

The Paws in the Park Pet Costume Contest is scheduled for approximately 1:30 p.m. and will award prizes for:

Spookiest Costume

Funniest Costume

Most Creative Costume

Best in Show

Registration is a $25 donation to the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, and pre-registration is recommended because space is limited.

Register for the Paws in The Park Costume Contest

On-site registration will be available until 12:30 p.m., and contestants should arrive at the main stage by 1:15 p.m. to check in.

Humans are welcome to dress up with their animals too, although it isn’t required.

Don’t have a costume yet? Paws in the Park will also have costumes available on-site for pets who want to participate.

Each category winner will receive a pet-themed basket filled with goodies.

Paws in the Park is also hosting a Silent Auction, and bidding is now open.

Bidding will remain open until 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, giving attendees a chance to participate before and during the event.

Proceeds help support the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, so be sure to check out the auction while you’re there.

About the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria

Paws in the Park is presented by the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA), a local nonprofit organization dedicated to helping animals and the people who care for them throughout the Alexandria community.

The AWLA provides shelter, adoption services, veterinary care, community resources, and other programs designed to improve the lives of animals while supporting local pet owners.

Through Paws in the Park, the AWLA brings together pet families, animal advocates, local businesses, exhibitors like Kate’s K9 Pet Care, and members of the community for a day centered around animals and the people who love them.

Kate’s K9 is proud to participate as an exhibitor and support an event that celebrates Alexandria’s pet community while helping raise awareness and support for the work of the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria.

Bringing Your Pet to Paws in the Park?

We know plenty of Kate’s K9 families may want to bring their four-legged friends along for the day!

Paws in the Park asks attendees to keep in mind that the event will include crowds, other animals, music, and plenty of activity. Pets should only attend if they are comfortable in that type of environment.

For the safety of everyone attending, pets must be on non-extendable leashes that are six feet or shorter, or secured with other species-appropriate equipment.
